A computer or device that Network Magic cannot accurately identify.
The Network Magic feature you use to help manage your network.
If you are not aware of a newly-connected computer or device in your
network, use care in determining whether it might be an accidental connection
or a security risk.
Here are examples:
A user who intrudes accidentally (for example, a
neighbor's wireless computer might inadvertently connect to your network
using the wireless signal from your router
or wireless access point)
A user who intrudes deliberately (for example, to
"poach" a wireless signal or hack (crack) into your computers
to access personal data). For more information, see About
intruders.
A device that joins networks (for example, to connect your home network
to the Internet). A router is also known as a gateway or base station.
A device used for wireless network access. Also known as an access point
(or AP) or bridge.
If you have connected multiple devices to your network but cannot tell
which device is which in the network map, you can identify them individually.
